Summer in the Backyard

July 12, 2018  •  Leave a Comment

I spent a couple of hours in my backyard yesterday morning trying out a new technique and trying to catch some of those fast moving insects that love my meadow of Mountain Mint and Lantana shrubs. They didn't come out until late morning when it was beginning to get warm so I didn't want to stay out too long. But I still managed to capture a nice variety: Blue Winged Thread Waisted wasp, Common Buckeye, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, and Silver Spotted Skipper. I also wanted to see what shooting through the screen window of the gazebo would look like. You can see these photos on my homepage slide show. Be sure to click on the images to read the captions.
