There is a photographer’s saying that if you want to make awesome photographs, stand in front of something awesome. Last week I got to stand in front of something awesome. I took Monday off and Ed and I headed to Unicoi State Park for a couple of days. The first day we spent hiking around Unicoi Lake. The next day we drove up to Anna Ruby Falls. We’d planned the trip for some weeks and after weeks of drought it looked very much like we might get totally rained out. But we packed a couple of ponchos and even a rain coat and umbrella for the gear. As it turned out, it didn’t rain, but the sky was completely overcast, providing soft, even, light and dramatic views of cloud shrouded mountains and misty falls. As you can imagine, I took a lot of shots. I’ll be posting a few at a time over several days. You can see my first batch now on my homepage slideshow. Keep watching, because it is going to get better.
